INVICTUS NEXT-GEN® Drosophila Incubators feature state-of-the-art thermoelectric cooling technology, unmatched by any other Drosophila incubator on the market. Nearly every component in these chambers can easily be serviced within minutes with basic hand tools, meaning no more expensive service bills. These quiet, sleek incubators are equipped with user-friendly touchscreen controllers that have a built-in alarm and mite cycle program. These touchscreen controllers are fully programmable at 24 set points, so the incubator can be programmed to automatically adjust temperature at up to 24 time intervals. The double door model is finished with a brushed aluminum exterior. These chambers are the only double-door thermoelectrically cooled incubators currently available. This model includes both timed LED lighting and the addition of the ultrasonic humidification system for additive humidity control.
INVICTUS NEXT-GEN® Incubators are protected with the best warranty available on the market. The warranty includes 1 year all labor, 2 year all parts, and 7 years on the thermoelectric cooling unit. All INVICTUS NEXT-GEN chambers are manufactured for Genesee Scientific exclusively by Darwin Chambers Company. Since thermoelectric technology only allows either side of the block to become relatively hotter or cooler than the ambient temperature, thermoelectric models can only cool up to 7° C from ambient temperature. Note: If end user wants to lower humidity we recommend (customer facility supplied) compressed dry air. For basic compressed air brought to chambers: A compressor with 100-150psi capability, regulated to 70psi is required. The larger the storage tank, the better, to limit compressor cycling (dependent upon usage/settings). An automatic condensed water removal system and multistage filter is required (such as 59-836). Exact cfm requirements and dewpoint of compressed air will depend on specific customer applications. Darwin Chambers tests models with -40 degrees C dewpoint air, but specific applications may need lower or higher dewpoint air. We make no further specifications or other recommendations beyond these items. The air supply connection uses 1/4 OD polyethylene tubing. A (customer facility supplied) compressor capable of providing 5 sCFM of air at 70-90 PSI (For single Chamber needing dry air), is recommended for use on our chambers. ( chamber requires max of 3.3sCFM) This air source should be stripped of moisture with some form of dryer and filter to ensure the line does not become saturated with moisture and debris. The compressed dried air must have a dew point lower than the desired chamber set point. We make no further specifications or other recommendations (Tank size, duty cycle, dB, Electric power, or HP). The air supply connection uses ¼ OD polyethylene tubing. Tanks of compressed air not acceptable for long term use. Chamber set points that are lower dew points than ambient conditions will require longer run times than chambers having a dew point at or above ambient dew point, for air compressors. Compressors not meeting these specifications could cause more compressor ware and longer recovery times for chamber to reach set point and/ or performance. For multiple chambers use (Chamber MAX sCFM) 3.3 * Amount of Chambers * 1.5 = sCFM needed. Flow rate is adjustable per chamber. Less sCFM helps to prevent overshoot. More sCFM to achieve lower dew point rapidly. Tanks of compressed air not acceptable. Humidified models also require a Type 3 water source. Filters can be sold separately if Type 3 water is unavailable.

Every INVICTUS NEXT-GEN incubator is covered by a 1 year warranty on all parts and labor, 2 year warranty on all parts and 7 year warranty on the thermoelectric cooling block. Remember INVICTUS NEXT-GEN incubators were engineered so that virtually every part is replaceable by simple hand tools and they also do not utilize coolant. This means you never have to call a refrigeration technician and almost any repair can be done right in the lab.
Yes, every INVICTUS NEXT-GEN drosophila chamber comes with a built in alarm system that is capable of sending text and email notifications in the event of failure so you have peace of mind that your experiments are maintaining your set specifications no matter where you are.
There are 3 requirements for humified models. First, the incubator must be connected to a type 3 water source. We require type 3 so the water doesn't corrode the chamber. Filters are available if your water source is not type 3 or better and we also offer a carboy system accessory if no water source is available. Second, the incubators must be close to a drain. You can also utilize a drain pan if this pan is regularly emptied. Third, the incubator must be connected to compressed air especially if you need to set the incubator at a lower humidity level close to ambient. The compressed air connection is what aids drying in the chamber. This isn't completely required if you are operating at high set points.
