GC10 Chemically Competent cells from Genesee Scientific are appropriate for cloning of methylated/genomic DNA, general cloning, plasmid propagation, construction of gene banks, generation of cDNA libraries and mutagenesis. They carry the tonA genotype that confers resistance to T1 and T5 phage, which offers added security to protect valuable clones and libraries. recA1 and endA1 markers minimize unwanted recombination and enhance plasmid quality. Allows blue/white color screening of recombinant clones.
These cells are resistant to bacteriophage T1 which attacks E. coli and spreads rapidly by aerosolization. The T1 resistant competent cells protect samples from possible bacteriophage T1 infection.
