This manual repeating pipette gives a whole new meaning to a smooth pipetting experience. Its slim and agile design allow users to pipette comfortably for an extending amount of time. With the ability to work in tandem with ten different repeater tip sizes, the HandyStep S offers nearly 60 different volume settings. The easy-to-read chart topper is located on the back of the repeater to help users identify volume settings for each syringe tip size. An adjustable thumbwheel is located on the side and users can adjust settings single-handedly while viewing the large display in front. Both curved finger hook and dispense button are perfectly aligned across from each other for a more controlled aliquoting. Below the dispense button is a simple piston locking/filler lever that allows easy aspiration. As an additional safety feature, a teardrop tip ejector is located at the bottom to provide a hands-free disposal of contaminated tips. A perfect mix of ergonomics and precision, the HandyStep S provides unprecedented versatility, durability and ease of use.
BrandTech HandyStep® repetitive pipette series come in both manual and electronic. Similar to all BRAND instruments, these were developed with accuracy, precision and dependability. Each repeater is supplied with a performance certificate, shelf/rack mount, one each: 0.1ml, 1ml and 10ml PD-Tip™ II Precision Dispenser tips, operating manual and two year warranty.

What is a repeater pipette?
It's a liquid handling instrument that's able to aspirate up to 50ml of liquid and dispense the same volume repeatedly. They're ideally for tube or plate filling, aliquoting reagents and kit usage.
You can reference our videos section for more information. With the HandyStep s manual repeater, you would reference the provided chart on the back of the repeater. From the chart you can find the tip sizes and corresponding volume settings. Once you identify which tip and volume you use, reference the setting number on the left and use the thumbwheel to adjust to the desired setting. Push the filling lever all the way down until it bends and you hear a click. Then insert the tip in the top of the opening until you hear a click. To aspirate fluid, unbend the filling lever and pull up. Once your syringe tip is filled, you're now ready to pipette by pushing down on the dispensing lever. Once finished, push the filling lever all the way down until it bends and use the tip ejector button to discard the tip.

Please reference the HandyStep S Calibration Instructions sheet located in the links section of this website. Because the instrument and the syringe tips are equal partners in the accuracy of the instrument, if you find that your instrument is not performing to specification with third-party tips, we recommend that you try BRAND PD-Tip™ syringe tips to confirm the source of the error. PD-Tip™ syringe tips are supplied with a Certificate of Performance in every box. It should be noted that bubbles in the tip are also a common source of error.
