The T-GEN glove is designed to lend the environment a helping hand. An additive is incorporated in the T-Gen’s formula to increase decomposition when placed in an active microbial environment (i.e. landfill). The additive allows microorganisms to consume and metabolize the gloves into natural compounds such as biogas (methane and carbon dioxide), biomass and inorganic materials. Without compromising the user’s comfort, the glove is made with an accelerator-free soft nitrile formulation to ensure the perfect fit for your hand. The shelf life for T-GEN gloves is 3 years from date on box. Extreme temperature or placement in direct sunlight or fluorescent light will decrease the shelf life.

Will the gloves biodegrade outside of the landfill?
No. These gloves are designed to only attract microbes located in the landfill soil and will not biodegrade during use. Microbes you find in your household or common areas will not effect the shelf life of the gloves.
Please reference the T-GEN Biodegradable Glove Chemical Resistance Chart. In comparison to other nitrile glove brands, the chemical resistance is similar.

The biodegradable additive properties will not stay intact after incineration and become ineffective.
